Real Outcomes

Patients, parents, and clinicians.

After three years of CBT-E and two residential stays, I had stopped believing there was anything left to try. TrialMatch found a Phase II study at Penn Medicine in four minutes. I'm in week eight.

I was searching at 1am after my daughter's third hospitalization. This was the first tool that didn't make me feel like I was starting from scratch. We found two trials she qualified for within the same session.

I refer clients to TrialMatch when they've plateaued on outpatient CBT-E. The qualification flow asks exactly the right clinical questions — treatment-resistant criteria, BMI range, prior hospitalizations. It speaks my language.

Common Questions

Answered clearly.

No. You can select "Other/Unsure" in the first step and still receive matches. Many trials accept participants who are self-identified or in the process of being diagnosed. A formal DSM-5 diagnosis is required only by some Phase III trials — those will be clearly labeled.

Yes. TrialMatch is HIPAA-compliant. Your responses are encrypted in transit and at rest using AES-256. We do not sell, share, or broker your data to pharmaceutical companies, advertisers, or data aggregators. Your contact information is only shared with the specific study coordinator you choose to schedule a call with.

Phase II trials are earlier-stage studies testing whether a treatment works and establishing dosing. They typically enroll fewer participants (50–300) and may offer more individualized attention from the research team. Phase III trials are larger confirmatory studies (300–3,000 participants) with more established safety profiles. Both types are legitimate treatment options, especially for patients who haven't responded to standard care.

This varies by trial. Many studies allow you to continue working with your existing therapist or prescriber. Some trials require a washout period from certain medications. The screening call is specifically designed to answer these questions before you commit to anything. Scheduling a call is not an enrollment commitment.

Absolutely. Select 'Parent or guardian' in the eligibility step. We'll filter for trials that enroll adolescents and flag studies with family-based components. For minors under 18, parental consent is required for all trials — the study coordinator will walk you through this process on the screening call.

Select 'Therapist / clinician' in the eligibility step and use your patient's clinical profile to generate matches. You can save the PDF summary and share it directly with your client. We also offer a clinician portal (coming Q3 2026) for bulk matching and referral tracking. Contact us at clinicians@trialmatch.com for early access.
